Even though Leon is no hero. He is often pushed to "do the right thing". But mostly it's purely coincidental while he tries to take revenge on those who caused his new take on life the loss of his loved ones.

Leon eventually fall mortally wounded by opposing his father. Before he kicks the bucket however his father manages to make a copy of Leon's mind and basically Johnny Silverhand's his ass. In an attempt to test run a robotic body his father made for himself, he uploads Leon's mind into it.
