I used blue thread over my quilt - it’s supposed to be a pool surrounded by banks of flowers - a log cabin variation - did a rose vine pantograph on top - curving lines and shapes - sort of like a mist

Instead of olives - what about giant capers? Something salty or acid to offset the sweetness of the caramelized onions.

Mix the olives in with the onions, you just want to sauté them till they start to get translucent

Then poured into that pie plate — you really want to heap the onions high and cover with second circle of dough, cut a couple vents in the top and put it in the oven.

Probably 350 to 375 is fine

Sautee about 5 lb thinly sliced sweet onions

Add some fresh herbs to taste

Mix in a ton of (black) olives without pits

Use your favorite savory pie crust recipe or frozen prepared bread dough or phyllo

You’ll want to line a pie plate and reserve enough for a full top
