Apologies, I misread what you were getting at- yeah, I can't really disagree with the logic and it's frankly the same sort of thinking I have on the matter.
Ideally, I'd love to see universal denuclearisation but in the current geopolitical climate... may be ill advised.

Assuming no decoys, that is. We've been using decoys alongside our warheads since the Chevaline upgrade to Polaris in the 80s.
Denuclearising just means we'd likely need to massively up defence spending elsewhere, to establish a credible conventional deterrence.
