The reports I have heard describe the firearm they believe was used as a bolt action rifle. Not an AR/AK style. That is the type broadly used for hunting.

As a parent that grew up with corporal punishment, it was difficult to suppress the urge to spank my children. I assume this was some kind of conditioned response.
