Metabolism and proteostasis are key mechanisms for slowing aging and transcription-coupled DNA repair restores a stable trancriptome during the rejuvenation process. Congratulations to Khrystyna Totska, João Barata, Walter Sandt and @meyerdh.bsky.social David Meyer for the great work

The Dauer diapause is the most amazing natural adaptation of C. elegans that allows survival amid adverse environmental conditions. Despite being active the animals can rejuvenate during dauer exit and grow into fully functioning adults.

The first master regulator of DNA repair capacities that could be therapeutically targeted is the DREAM complex as we show here: www.nature.com/articles/s41...
The DREAM complex functions as conserved master regulator of somatic DNA-repair capacities - Nature Structural & Molecular Biology
In this work, the authors show that the DREAM complex suppresses the expression of numerous DNA-repair proteins in somatic cells. Suppression of the DREAM complex, either by altering individual compon...

The central role of DNA damage in the ageing process - Nature
This Review examines the evidence showing that DNA damage is associated with ageing phenotypes, suggesting that it may have a central role as the cause of ageing.

Aging clocks based on accumulating stochastic variation - Nature Aging
Meyer and Schumacher use simulations to show that accumulation of stochastic variation is sufficient to build clocks that can measure both chronological and biological age, sensitive to changes induce...
