We showed the activation of distibene and dibismuthene with a series of azides to generate small inorganic rings. The divergent reactivity has lead to an interesting example of NHC-stabilised imino-bismuthane.

Thanks to the great collaborations with, Green, Grimme @grimmelab.bsky.social and Kornienko groups, we have been able to analyse the mechanism and investigate the effect of light with CV measurements and validate it using computational methods. Check the paper for more infos
