The kaiju rumbling on impeccable sets is so viciously done, and the focus on rural childhood in mourning is SO sweet. Really cute and charming kids, all carrying with their costar and friend. A beautiful love letter made almost sad as it stands as a last work of traditional tokusatsu and kaiju.
