I have very little pity for farmers, especially the corporate farmers. Many, and even most farmers these days, think they can get rich in that industry. I pity the few that are the REAL farmers.

Many farmers have grown reliant on government payouts when weather ruins crops or markets are oversupplied. The government may even pay them not to plant or harvest to keep prices stable. They rarely admit it, but this amounts to farm welfare.
