I never had an aspect issue on my Amiga, though I was using a DEC VR241 sync-on-green monitor which had the correct ratio.

Yeah, all PAL. I figured it was a standards based quirk and I'm surprised these machines sold at all in the UK with such an annoying display issue. Well, as we know they didn't sell that well, but still.
