Had the pleasure of talking about JAMS, anime studies, and librarianship on two amazing panels at AnimeNYC!

I'm so heartened to see so many opportunities for public scholarship emerging for professors and librarians at larger conventions - especially needed right now!

AnimeNYC Day 0 is a HUGE success!

Badge acquired, and managed to grab last minute tickets to a show!

"Death Becomes Her" was AMAZING!

It's also fun making small talk with folks and being able to say I'm here in NYC to talk about anime! I wish I could tell younger Billy the way his life would go!

Thrilled to share I'll be speaking at AnimeNYC next week!

Here me talk about anime and manga scholarship, and rep JAMS and IU Library in:

"From Fandom to Faculty: The Academic Life of Anime and Manga" on Friday!

And

"Oh Grow Up!: Seinan and Josei Manga/Anime" on Saturday!

My first AnimeNYC! 🥳

It's not every day your university writes a whole news article about you, nor every day that they include a picture of you, your mom, and your grandma from the 2014 Anime Boston Death Match!

So honored to have been highlighted by Indiana University!

Hello! I'm in this!

In 2019, I was a panicked graduate student wondering if I'd ever get anywhere at all researching anime.

In 2025, I'm a faculty member on a funded trip to Kyoto about to present my research on anime internationally.

Life is very good, I'm very grateful.

What benefit is there to Crunchyroll to cut off libraries? In this political climate, it's a pretty awful PR choice and yet another way of booting the medium's target demo.

Anime fans start young and they don't have credit cards.

I'm eager to see this year's data, but we need a lot more responses - take it today if you can!
