Last night I had the pleasure of attending the Sackville Rivers Association annual dinner and auction with some colleagues, representing 3 levels of government.The SRA are stewards of our beloved rivers who do amazing work with limited resources. Not all heroes wear capes, some wear rubber boots.

Visited Dartmouth Cove today with colleague Jean St Amand and a guided walking tour with @samaustind5.bsky.social. We chatted with residents on the trail and watched a seal nearby. Such a beautiful space.

Had a blast today participating in the annual Dartmouth Community Bike Ride with some Council colleagues,HRP, HRM staff and community members. We rode to the Shubie Pump Track and back, then finished off with some bbq courtesy of Chefs Becky and Nancy!

Today schedule consists of a meeting with a local sports club and then this afternoon I’ll be joining Deputy Mayor Mancini and some Council Colleagues for the 12th Annual Dartmouth Community Bike ride. I have my bike all tuned up and ready to go!

There wil be a new crosswalk with RA-5 flashing beacons installed on Cobequid Road and Hillside Avenue near civic #111.
The bus stops will also be relocated to accommodate the new crossing.This work will be carried out as part of the 25/26 Capital Budget.

Today myself and the remaining volunteers of the William Henry Little Park Society have begun a restoration of this little nature park on Old Sackville Road in Lower Sackville. I’ve traded in the suit for a power saw as we work away in the coming weeks to reclaim our space in nature.

As of this morning, the folks that were living rough near the ball fields on the Sackville Greenway Trail, have been relocated into provincial temporary shelters. HRM staff attended the site this morning and has been cleared and rehabilitated to its original state.

I Had the chance to tour the new site currently under construction for Chisholm Services for Children with E.D. Wade Johnson. Located on First Lake Drive in Lower Sackville, two new homes for 8 children with an on-site support network are coming together with a target completion date of July 2026.

Shout out to Great Cycle Challenge Canada and this local crew of 50 riders led by Big Reg. They have raised 100 k locally for fighting Kids Cancer. Today they held their ride with the largest number of riders in Canada through Lower Sackville.Thank you ❤️
