Yet another "this bill that was intended to make building housing easier might make building housing easier, gotta kill it" from Mayor Bass. I am so over her and will be so happy when she's gone. mayor.lacity.gov/news/mayor-b...

Yes.

This is like someone whimpering about the mean streets of the Upper East Side or the Hamptons, of Marin or Atherton, of Potomac or McLean, of 02138.

S Miller is an embarrassment to all Californians.
This is so much funnier when you realize that the city he's talking about becoming a "failed third world nation" here is *Santa Monica*

@druckmann.bsky.social I was listening to the Last Of Us podcast this morning and heard you mention you had ambitions to do a webcomic at some point. Did you read Achewood back in the day?

@tombogert.bsky.social Have fun at the Sphere, I saw them last weekend and everything about it is great. Great venue, band still cooks. Enjoy!

I want to read an read an article about how these whiplash tariff changes are affecting whatever officials are in charge of actually collecting tariffs. Surely this administration isn't organized enough to keep the on-the-ground people looped in and up to date. What is their life like right now?

I’m not sure if Duolingo has difficulty escalators in friends quests or if it’s just random, but the “complete 25 perfect lessons” one is a bummer. Feels like a lot of acutal work to achieve, and you really feel like you’re letting down somebody you know if you don’t hit it. Not a positive feeling.

I just realized that all these EZ Pass scam texts are probably meant to catch people who think they might owe congestion pricing tolls.

Geez, supporters section tickets are priced crazy for this LAFC/Club América preseason game tonight. I hope that we don't end up with América fans in the north end, could you imagine?

Watching Carry-On, the Netflix thriller about TSA agents or something (just started it). One of the LAX managers said “lets keep things moving, I want you to ticket anybody who parks for longer than a minute.” I honest-to-god laughed out loud.

I’m a strong advocate for more housing in my home town of Santa Monica, but I will admit that I’ve always been a bit bothered by Santa Monica showing such a high vacancy rate (it seems to hover around 10%.)

My decades-late watch of Deep Space 9 has finally arrived at the part of the series that I’ve always heard is some of the best Star Trek of that era. It good, and my wife (not a Trek fan generally) absorbed enough being around me watching it that she’s been sucked in too, much to her chagrin.
