Ah well, here’s another one for you?
I can’t imagine Prof. Tribe is joking about it 😞

The Borowitz Report 11/30: “Donald J. Trump raised eyebrows in diplomatic circles on Saturday by naming the former drug lord Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman U.S. ambassador to Mexico. When asked about El Chapo’s 10
felony convictions, Trump said, ‘I wish he had more, but I still think he’s qualified.’”

Unless… we get Trump *because* the world is falling apart!

During COVID at the head of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council are: Xi Jinping, Putin, Boris Johnson, Trump… and poor Macron. Just what you need during a plague!

It won’t be long before it’s the only thing we have left!!

They certainly shouldn’t.
As @weissmann11.bsky.social has said and written a few times some countries (South Korea and France spring to mind) don’t fret at the idea that no one is above the law, including their own Head of State; I guess those countries didn’t have a corrupt Supreme Court.

Like Trudeau, they will travel to him! 😂
December 1, 2024 at 1:12 AM
Thanks

Not him, his slate!

Interesting distinction between the 2!
Out of 190+ member states, it’s far from being the majority.

Could you please share links of your sources? I’m still curious about the discrimination based on another country’s laws.

If I may though, they don’t line up to be his friend; they line up because they won’t have a choice but to work *alongside* him (that doesn’t mean *with* him); diplomacy is not friendship.

Remember this?

Emmanuel Macron: my handshake with Trump was 'a moment of truth'
French president says his white-knuckle prolonged handshake with US counterpart was designed to show he’s no pushover

My mistake!! Grrr…
It may not be Twitter but you read some weird stuff here.
Sorry!!

It doesn’t apply to the Schengen area (EU + Switzerland)
That would seriously infringe the sovereignty and legal integrity of these countries if they applied the criminal law of another (outside extradition protocol).
Imagine being gay and convicted in a country criminalising LGBT? Not that simple!

“Most nations”, sources please.

Besides as you noted, he was (outrageously) pardoned; therefore the bastard has a clean slate.
November 30, 2024 at 11:54 PM
Has he broken French law? If not why would they bar him from entering their sovereign territory?
November 30, 2024 at 11:36 PM
What are you talking about?? No one other than Putin, Orban and far-right politicians want Trump in the White House. He endangers the EU, NATO and the UN.
As a fellow corrupt embezzler and racist populist, Le Pen will be pleased. Otherwise, no!
November 30, 2024 at 11:33 PM
Hey, you’re the one who voted for a serial rapist who simulated fellatio on his microphone and dry-humped the American flag, all in public. Appropriate for kids much?
November 30, 2024 at 10:36 PM
Jesus Christ… so not the right time to get high and mighty with other countries!
November 30, 2024 at 10:31 PM
Bring it on! France has no problem sending their corrupt presidents to prison…
Le Pen is next!

Easy on the 420 buddie, if you find the subject of child molestation and verbal abuse funny.
November 30, 2024 at 10:21 PM
The whole underlying current of MAGA is abuse full stop.
Might makes right. Law of the bullies.
November 30, 2024 at 8:06 PM
“he should still be sentenced like any other convicted criminal. That would send a clear message that no one is above the law.”
Correct me if I’m wrong but that ship has sailed…

I like the idea of waiting 4 years; it’s a decent compromise and would make him sweat a bit.

(We definitely need an edit button to correct the typos 🙈; my inner grammar Nazi is getting hives on here)
November 30, 2024 at 7:39 PM
I don’t get it… are you boasting about being uneducated??
I’ll let you in on a secret: we’ve known for a while...
November 30, 2024 at 7:34 PM
Oh darling, how is your Mexico-paid wall doing these days?
November 30, 2024 at 7:27 PM
👏👏👏
After Cambridge Analytica (thanks for Brexit!) anything Zuck is banned from my devices.
That includes WhatsApp and all those you named. Explaining to people why you will not have them raises awareness; not giving in is at the very least power, if not moral duty.

She apologised for it which indicates that her son’s career is still more important to her than his character.
Besides one doesn’t become a malignant narcissist unless their parents “helped” one way or another.
