(continued) The Śramaṇa can travel across various planes without access to planar keys, and allow movement for the repentant as well from the Lower Planes; there are stories in Japan of children being tormented in hell by demons, and how Jizō Bosatsu throws his shawl out to hide these poor kids.

3. (Continued) The Śramaṇa, or "Renouncer Angel", is inspired by stories of Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva (地藏菩萨 in Chinese), who swears to empty the Hells. In Japan he's seen at roadsides and shrines as the red-scarfed Jizō Bosatsu, who guards and guides dead children. The Śramaṇa was really fun to write!

It is all so much, and I am grateful, for the chances to fight.

But I guess I often forget I'm not as terrible as I fear I am. I mean, so what if I can't get into reliable academic employment, or I can't get any progression in wages as befits my experience or expertise... Or I'm not successful or prestigious or anything like that. It's all.. actually quite ok.
