Oh, I'm just joshing. I understand what you mean. Yes, building frontier AI models requires an exorbitant amount of energy. But once they are developed, you can run versions of them on your laptop without even accessing the internet.

This is a silly, reactionary response. Nowhere did the OP suggest that this is America’s only pathology. And almost 50,000 deaths/year is not a “handful.” (Yes, we know a lot of those are “just suicides and gang-related,” so spare us).
