America's worst fallacy is that rich people deserve their riches because they're better than us. They aren't smarter, and they aren't more virtuous. They started out rich and they got lucky.

So many people have bought their rewritten histories as savants and visionaries, instead of people who started out rich and happened to win big. Survivor bias is heavy in SV

Missing is just how fundamentally dumb these VCs and CEOs are. Being good and lucky at one thing does not make you good at everything, and none of them have the humility to accept this.
