A local artist traded me some odd objects for some of my art. One was a soup bomb. I assumed ”bomb” meant it was for the bath, maybe a little vegetal. My mom LOVES baths.

Turns out it was soup. In a ball. And my mom had to call for help to get out of the bathtub.

The only year I remember doing Thxgiving at home, my mom set up the turkey in the countertop roaster. A couple of hours later and the bag was PUFFED UP so I spent a half hour building a heat shield with aluminum foil - only to be asked a bit later why we didn’t just poke holes in the bag. 🤦‍♀️

We sometimes do avena - it’s just oatmeal, but fancied up and made with sweetened condensed milk. If we get any in time, tamales (that we bought from family or a fam friend)

We’ll have tamales this year, but we’re making them after Xmas I think. (Making them was never a family tradition)
