It was very odd reporting, black British of Caribbean descent on R4. So will we start hearing things like white British of Irish descent for white offenders with parents or grandparents from other countries? And because it involved a black person immediate speculation about gangs. Messed up

This is the zebra leading to our very multi-national primary school in West London. Can't imagine how kids and parents going to feel crossing this on their first day back this week but it seems not enough politicians care (PS am going to try to do something about it)

My hunch is that these stories are set ups from the start. Media should dig deeper into how these stories are managed (PRs, payment, orgs involved), and include in story. Then follow them up a month or so later. The 'victim shaming' narrative makes proper investigation a challenge

Must have been hundreds of thousands of people in central London today. People spilling out of bars and cafes onto packed streets. Total mix. No tension. No danger. Buzzing. Wife & I both Londoners (birth&25yrs) - kept mentioning the number of people being/feeling safe and spending loads of £

I think there's a missing message, to be repeated constantly, that is obvious to anyone with any sense (the voters to target): the previous governments knew all about these problems but did nothing, they even went into the last election promising tax cuts, with hospitals and schools crumbling, etc
