Today is trans day of remembrance. I have decided to write a prayer as my way of remembering this year. If you pray you are welcome to use this if you wish.
Heavenly God, we come to you on a day of immense sorrow and heartache. We feel weary seeing so many lose their lives while seeking to be the person you created them to be. We pray that you will give us space to remember them and mourn for our loss. We pray for peace for those who were close to them. We are thankful that you may grieve with us, and feel our pain alongside us. In this broken world, we pray for your protection. We pray you will give strength to the persecuted, love to the oppressed, and blessing to our community. We pray for your kingdom to come on earth, and that we will live in a world free from judgement, hate, and violence. Today let us remember those we lost, and tomorrow help us create a brighter world in their memory. Amen
