I’m very supportive of public libraries as welcoming community spaces. Find it ironic though that this article comes from someone based at least partly at Auckland university considering the devastation that has been wreaked on the university library.

The Eden Park bosses seem to have forgotten there’s a train station at Kingsland for all the frustrated wanna-be Kingsland shoppers.

Health insurance supported by your employer has some serious downsides and certainly does nothing for the unemployed or the retired.

Let’s recycle 2015. I spent 6 months in France. I’d happily do that again!

Why are newspapers ignoring the small print in the report which says it can’t be relied on for decision making? It’s basically a liad of assumptions and guesswork!!

I find my local council is very variable with emails. I emailed one team in the weekend and got a reply on the Monday. Another team says they aim to reply within five days, but don’t. A lottery.

I wish do many companies - especially govt / local govt agencies - would install these systems.

I completely agree. Also, a social media ban for some people is effectively saying to social media companies that they can continue to profit from hosting scams, hate speech, etc., we’ll just stop relatively few people from experiencing it. At the same time that under-16s will be evading the ban.

When a criminal suspect is also a staff member, the HR issues can get complex.

Glad he’s encouraging involvement in the consultation but would really like to see him making the case for many other things being higher priorities for government expenditure.

I’m happy to regularly buy lotto tickets and dream of an affluent future while knowing I’m very unlikely to win as I know I’m contributing to AoNZ good causes. If some money is to be siphoned off to a private company then I won’t be buying any more tickets.
Die Buschkerle - Spielen in der Natur
Gibt es etwas Schöneres als Spielen in der Natur? Mit meinem Konzept möchte ich den Kindern von Heute die Chance geben, den Wald als Lebensraum für sich zu entdecken.

Sorry about that ladies and gentlemen. Air traffic control tried to land us on top of another plane.
November 19, 2025 at 6:39 AM
My *best* landing of many in Wellington: early evening but already dark; coming in to land - we can see the landing strip; plane suddenly soars up again; silence then nervous laughter; the plane circles then comes in to land and does so successfully. As we taxi to the terminal the pilot says:
