Hot off the presses. It was an absolute pleasure to put this together with @liblaura.bsky.social!

Takeaways:

1. Don't assign systematic/scoping reviews to your students!
2. Don't ask your university librarian to support this terrible idea!

I'll be doing an advent calendar of #SearchingSkills where you can try/learn something new every day.

It will be primarily in PubMed and sometimes using MeSH terms to answer the question.

It will be aimed at inexperienced searchers, but I hope experienced searchers will join in too!

My husband’s volleyball girls thought I was a figment of his imagination. 😂 Anyway, why a football field? They made the Sweet 16 for Texas HS volleyball and are being recognized at tonight’s playoffs game. 💜🧡

Fun fact about proximity search in #PubMed : stop words (e.g., the, of, kg, with, etc.) are counted, not overlooked. That means if you are using proximity to find phrases like "cancer of the bladder" or similar, your proximity N will need to account for the stop words. #medlibs

I am feeling incredibly out of touch with all things medlibs right now! 🙁 It feels like no learning is going on due to time, making me feel inadequate.

Heya, #medlibs! The stickers are here! I just confirmed yesterday I will be at MLA this year, so I've added the P/U @ MLA option. Here's the link to the form! forms.office.com/r/gVMSNMz7Zu (MacBook Air 13” for size reference!)

Hi, #medlibs! Super excited to share that I've commissioned art for a sticker using @carrieprice.bsky.social's idea! TYSM @pohyeewan for the cutest art! Please like this tweet if you'd like one to help me determine the order size (if you've liked it somewhere else, pls don't like it here lol)

Well, I’ve only got Twitter, BlueSky and Discord socials left and two don’t count because they’re for professional connections. 😅 Just gotta turn off the noise for a bit!

In my feels this morning, and thinking back to that time I went to a conference and literally made one friend, the only other POC, despite being fully present and trying to engage with others. Isn't that what we're all there for anyway? To connect?
