“It's amazing how pollution has dropped in #Paris in 15 years. @annehidalgo.bsky.social has filled the city with bike-lanes & not only has she reduced pollution by 40% but she’s also been re-elected.”

Trading car space for green space, bike space, kid space…trading pollution for people. Good trade.
Es alucinante cómo ha bajado la contaminación en París en 15 años. Anne Hidalgo lo ha llenado todo de carriles bici y no sólo ha reducido la contaminación en un 40%, sino que ha sido reelegida.

It only took 4 years, but the garbage study that initially claimed hydroxychloroquine could treat COVID19 has been retracted. As with Wakefield’s fraudulent paper falsely tying vaccines to autism, the damage has already been done. It was cited more than 3600 times. www.nature.com/articles/d41...
Controversial COVID study that promoted unproven treatment retracted after four-year saga
Paper on hydroxychloroquine led by French researcher Didier Raoult is second-most-cited study ever to be withdrawn.

Musk isn’t actually running any of his companies or a government department, he’s just posting on twitter all day every day.
What does Elon Musk's online activity reveal about him? Going through nearly 40,000 posts over the past decade, and the policies implied or suggested in them, @ainsliejstone.bsky.social and I found a changed man

I, for one, missed this from U. Tennessee researchers: energy systems with higher levels of solar and wind are *less* likely to suffer blackouts and extreme weather vulnerability. This is consistent with recent studies from Europe.
Impacts of renewable energy resources on the weather vulnerability of power systems - Nature Energy
Renewable energy sources (RESs) are weather sensitive, raising questions about the vulnerability of high-penetration weather-dependent RES grids during extreme weather events. Here the authors find th...

Today seems like a good day to share this Scientific American story on how vaccines have saved more lives throughout history than any other intervention
