For someone who spends so much time desperately trying to be liked, you'd think this was a gift from above.

Not at all. The only discomfort I'm feeling here is holding my arm steady with a 20lb bird on it 😂

The irony is that after the ban, nearly every consumer owner will be incentivized to remove the ID, geofencing, and tracking functionality that the FAA uses.
And needless to say, if the ban goes into effect, I'll be earmarking a research budget to make this as easy as possible for drone owners.

My best guess is that this is an ad and they accidentally typed in an extra zero, pushing it to a wildly distant demographic (hence the poor engagement) 😬

That's an INSANE ad budget though. Probably burning $7-10k per hour.

I initially thought this might be some crazy newsletter thing, but I get their emails and nothing links to it.
600k views in a few hours would be insane for their site afaik

I'm proud to be a part of this, and I can't think of a cooler sneak preview for a full-scale investigative video project than a national security statement by my country's legislators.

Nah, Zyn. This is literally in a segment where he talks about how great they are.

It's useful for sure.
I think the most useful thing though would be accessibility. For example, it does more for overall research to give existing models an affordable hardware platform (like BirdNetPi) than it does to make more models that can only be run by people adept with ML development.
