For sure! But if you at a competitor like Paralives (which is the best one I've seen so far), I first saw footage from that game back in 2019, so it's been in dev for 7+ years which for a moderately sized team is going to cost millions. It's a huge risk financially to undertake that.. (1/2)

Not only do you have to build all of the foundations from scratch, you also then have to populate it with all the features and QOL that players have come to expect from the mainstream titles, and also pad it with enough customisation and details to feel like a compelling package

I think they’re incredibly complicated games to make, especially when the direct competitor is a studio/game that has decades of stuff to pull from - its similar to why pokemon competitors struggle, it’s just very hard to compete with a product that has such a vast amount of content right away
