Here’s why supporting my work really matters.

This is so important to state openly, and I don’t think people understand that this point. Our operating systems haven’t updated to the way things are now, so they don’t realize how antiquated the concept of “real work” is.
Also, the market for “real work,” has gone from “bad,” to “actively destroying itself,” so asking like this is probably better in the long run anyway.

They could fight for better so families can stay together & for benefits to remain, but then they wouldn’t have a Black baby to parade in front of you to further their fight against abortion.

Nonwhite people find family anywhere. White people say “family values”, but they don’t even like each other.

Having been homeless and resorting to making one packet of ramen stretch for an entire day or more, I am not interested in what you have to say about the homeless or hungry if you’ve never been through it.
Paying taxes does not entitle you to decide who gets their needs met and who doesn’t.

It’s been amazing to see everyone jumping into action & making sure folks are being fed given what’s happening with SNAP benefits.
That said, even if the benefits return, the need will still be there. Will we still show up?
Is it still a handout, or does it not matter now because you need it too?
