Also, it's weird how one's career can evolve. My first book (American Nationalisms) was Revolution-era, but I've since moved later and later in chronology. I'm finishing a Civil War-era work, and next is on C20. I feel so far from AmRev scholarship, even though I teach courses on it every year.
