It’s rare for me to see animal tracks, without snow.
Seeing tracks in snow is a favourite of mine, and one of the joys of winter.
I found this deer track at the top of my lane way - near the house. 🦌

I've had this tiny wooden shoe, with my name burnt into it on my keychain for over 50 years!
It was gifted to me by an important person in my life. 🥰

I added that slice of branch button, when I first moved here 15 years ago.

Bonus...I've always had wood with me, if I needed some to knock! 😂

Reflecting today on how grateful I am, to still be living here in this forest, with all the forest animals who also live here, for 15 years now❗️🙏
It’s not been easy…
- I don’t drive
- There’s no running water
- Exclusively solar powered for my electricity
- Wood stove for winter heating

***Scrap-it-up Tip***
To turn a quilt design into a scrappier version, cut shorter strips from a larger variety of fabrics.
Adding a group of fabrics with the same colour, but different prints/designs, instead of a single fabric, can add so much life to the finished quilt!
