As the story goes, during the filming of #JurassicPark Hurricane Iniki hit the island forcing the cast and crew to take shelter in the Marriott across the harbor. The footage of the waves crashing was actually shot from that hotel during the storm.

In the movie, you may or may not remember a quick scene in the middle of the movie where waves are seen crashing over a rocky jetty. This jetty, as it turns out, is in Līhu’e harbor on Kauai, which also just so happened to be same harbor where our ship was docked.
