🥁 Plays the drums

Having the (tiny) community and the implied accountability of a fixed call on my calendar made all the difference.

A few weeks ago, I upgraded my kit to this one, and I absolutely love it 😍

A few months in, @onurozer.me joined as well. We’d just meet on a call, chat for a bit, mute our microphones and practice or just jam independently.

After over two years of doing this, I can confidently say that I’ve gotten a lot better and still have tons of fun.

After moving, the kit stayed boxed up for a couple of years, until @michaelkoper.com urged me to set it up again.

He had just started drumming for the first time and so we decided to meet up on Zoom twice a week to play the drums.

When I moved out, I stopped for almost a decade. Not enough space in my apartment and the neighbors wouldn’t have approved anyways.

Eventually, I discovered that electric kits had evolved quite a bit and couldn’t resist. I started jamming occasionally again, but it didn’t stick.

Yeah, I get what you're saying. I somewhat agree, but in the end HTML/CSS is a rendering/layout description language of sorts.

Maybe look at Blitz (github.com/DioxusLabs/b...). Not sure how well it does font rendering, but it feels like this is one of the use cases it’s built for.
