The vibe I get is that "wanted Trump to win" is directionally correct but misses the primary motivation of wanting the boring wonks who kept trying to get them to give a shit about policy to lose.

You'd need to have some sort of system that aggressively selects for this extremely specific set of neuroses in order for it to be locally normalized. Just theoretically speaking, of course.

I think the Occam's razor answer is that they meant to just take the facade off the East Wing and accidentally knocked over something load bearing and so now they're scrambling to modify the plans to accommodate the new reality.

Being a boss *is* learned helplessness. You're not supposed to do things, you're supposed to facilitate everyone else doing things. Resisting the temptation to just do things yourself takes practice for most people.

Cooking + cleaning + childcare = 1 full time adult wage. By that metric the cost of all three has gone down significantly, mostly due to economies of scale.
