In MTG, why do only damage spells tell you what the source of the effect is in the card text? And why do they use a different tense? Murder should either say "Murder destroys target creature" or Lightning Bolt should say "Deal 3 damage to any target".

Had to choose Dragons so I could increase the amount of crossover in creature names with other card games. Spells are easy, creature names are super hard!
