Pound for pound, Manukau Ranges in #CitiesSkylines2 is the same size as Auckland is in real life. It even like Auckland has urban islands and its own Metropolitan Centres.

And why like Auckland retrofitting infrastructure is going to be long and complex, Hence starting in the City Centre first!

Bike Parking can be found with bus stops and some Metro Stations (have not checked all the rail stations yet). So this leads me to believe like CS1, cims can use bikes for first and last mile gap travel. Will need to test this out though!

It is a brave new world for Manukau Ranges as bikes, bike lanes, and bike parking make there way into #CitiesSkylines2

Here is our first cyclist embracing the brave new world
Also the amount of retrofitting needing to be done, so will start with the City Centre first.

Tim Tams. Affectionately known as a chocolate biscuit that you dip into hot drink to make a Tim Tam Slam!

BUT

Tim Tams are also affectionately the given name for the concrete dividers that separate cyclists from other road users thus protecting both.

Still need to unpack papers but that can wait

A driver will also whinge they cannot get a car park right outside their favourite Main Street store, but will walk 800m from the mall carpark to the mall entrance, then probably about 1.6km walking through the mall, then 800m back out to their car again
Matter of perspective

A fellow planner has brought up the topic of carrots and sticks in transport planning. When I was a trainer with the UITP one of the training sessions was on the Public Transport "offer."

More examples of missing middle housing and even mixed use including Live/Work!
November 13, 2025 at 9:11 PM
How to intensify or engage in Brownfield renewal gently. By engaging in the missing middle which is suitable city wide. This leaves your High Density to your City Centres, Metropolitan Centres, and within 800m of stations thus not freaking out the neighbours while still enjoying the benefits 👇

If one more general lane wont fix it, nor will wide general lanes!

Time to narrow those urban lanes and restore a human centric approach to our towns and cities!
November 12, 2025 at 7:44 PM
Yes lets settle the traffic down, but lets also get East Auckland truly unlocked by building the complete picture*
*Which also means eventual all day bus lanes down both sides of Pakuranga Road
November 12, 2025 at 7:11 PM
📢 A reminder this is the fastest, and cheapest way to get more people using those frequent buses plying those arterial roads 🚍 👇
