Elbows up.
As I get older, a do-nothing party sounds kind of appealing. I sure can't do Twister anymore....

Switch out Carly Rae, Bublé, and maybe Feist and you're looking at the playlist from when I was parenting, 30 years ago. (Add the Hip, Weakerthans, and Cohen and we'll call it even.)

Something was definitely up on Tuesday. I passed two dead/dying/desperate people being addressed by responders on Keefer at Main. There were other signs that things were off. I live in this neighbourhood and this is definitely not the norm.

So this cop on a motorcycle sees a cyclist riding along ... and knitting. No hands on the handlebars, just ... knitting. He rides up beside the cyclist and shouts, "Pull over!" The cyclist smiles and shouts back, "No! Cardigan!"

The BCAA is so complicit in urban sprawl, climate change, air pollution, minimizing the threat to life and limb of motorists, and the waste of lives spent behind the wheel going from Point Nowhere to Point Noplace, that I can never now take them seriously. They need to just disband. Go away, BCAA.

Or we could pass laws to restrict car bloat....

Chris, I feel you. But you've got to stop calling them "cars." They're not (as yet) autonomous. They're "motorists" or "drivers" or many less pleasant things but we gotta put the human component in there. Cars are rarely a threat to me. Wankers in cars are all the time.

Jeez. Glad it was a miss, even though it was near.

I wonder if the crisis in American political culture might stem at least in part from the fact that everyone is in cars, isolated from other human beings except as irritations (What's that idiot doing in MY LANE!?!?) and listening to stupid radio stations.... Suburbia is the enemy.
