Absolute majority of them is accessible to even F2P players. I haven't spent a penny on the game, yet have 150+ outfits for different characters. Over the course of years, but nonetheless

It is better to invest in your economy (the Base) and low rarity (cheaper) units first, to feel comfortable in the long run

Stages are build around low rarity unit, even day 0 characters are still perfectly playable, best investment you can do is to raise 1*, 2*, 3* Operators - and the max rarity is 6*

That is another reason of why buying an account is a horrible idea - you might have more variety of units early, but you would use them very inefficiently.

Just boot the game and play in your own pace. Developers thought about new players missing out and nowadays newbies are stronger than they ever were, and virtually any story event (save for collabs and experimental modes) is permanently accessible in the game.

There wouldn't be any Arknights, if not for the gacha monetization system. So it is what it is.
