I got a terrific deal on a used micro four thirds camera. Granted it's from 13 years ago (Olympus OM-D E-M5), but I got it for 8000 yen ($50 in USD). It looks a little rough and the seller reported it as having a power issue, but so far so good.

I’ve somehow unlocked a mania: Make fermented foods all day. Spent hours making two types or kimchi - dongchimi and yeolmu kimchi. This mode joins other mania episodes such as making sure every camera sensor is clean, buying batteries/pantry goods that aren’t needed & organizing files past bedtime.

Olympus were secretly the good guys in the camera world. The BLM-1/BLM-5 battery with their Camedia prosumer line and their E series DSLRs. Same with their BLS-1 that worked on a ton of their M43 and various DSLRs. Also, making great zoom lenses that competed with prime lenses. And dust reduction!

Don't know if some kind of bad moon alignment or whatever is happening, but I've been having bad luck with packages lately. Things getting sent to the wrong house, wrong items being sent and the seller claiming that something plastic is metallic, fake tracking numbers to work on fulfillment...

What I truly miss about mid to late-2000s internet: People actually took the time to blog about stuff and really geek out. And their sites and pages would actually show up on the web. Nowadays, I feel like I'm interacting with a dead internet.

I understand the film grain/digital noise argument, but as long as we're making pretty pictures, can we just enjoy them instead of making peepee on everyone
