But boosters have the same gift energy as a lotto ticket, and even if there's stuff that the giftee wants in them they'll probably still end up trading away anything of value in them eventually and likely won't even remember in a month what came from a gift and what didn't anyways. Bad gift vibes.

On the less utilitarian side, if you happen to know if the player has a favorite artist or favorite card, you can also often order prints of specific cards' art directly from the artists.

And if you can find out that much, you also might want to consider some apparel. Tshirts, hats, etc.

But really nice deck boxes will end up being used with their most prized decks. Shoot for ones that say they're for EDH/Commander because they'll have extra capacity that'll be useful. There's lots of cool people that make them out of all sorts of neat woods, and will often do custom engraving.

Going against the grain: IMO, if you want to give a gift that will be cherished, don't get cards. It's much better to go with upper-end paraphernalia. There's lots of stuff like deck boxes that players often won't splurge on (because they're spending their budget on cards).

Having gone through this whole song and dance multiple times in my 15 year career online, if you're worried about alienating your audience then don't. ALIENATE THEM. ALIENATE THE SHIT OUT OF THEM. YOU DON'T WANT THEM THERE.

This would probably have to be done "viking funeral" style. That is, aside from bank accounts, you'd also have to have as much of the valuables owned by the deceased as possible be collected and destroyed. There may be a rise in grave robbers salvaging precious metals from the resulting slag heaps.

Seal points!

Fun fact: colorpoint cats actually have uniform fur color genetics, not a coat pattern. One of the key enzymes for coloring their fur is temperature sensitive and denatures at cat body temperature though, so their extremities get their points while their warmer parts stay off-white!

That is, their claim that "the final product reflects the creativity and expression of our own development team" effectively excludes actors from counting as part of the dev team, and that's depressing.

Nobody should be harassed (or worse) over this, of course, but it's still not defensible IMO.

Their Steam page AI disclosure isn't open about what AI was used for. I get why it's tempting for devs to want to be able to add a voice lines without having to bring the VA back in to the studio, but doing it this way is an insult to what a VA's performance adds to the creative process.
