On reddit, I track the Big 12 and "how many conference wins do your wins have?"

Texas Tech had the most at 34, and BYU had 33. They both beat the good teams in the Big 12 and didn't skate by playing a bunch of "2 wins in conference" teams and relying on reputation.

I don't get punishing BYU and not Bama. My premise had been it's fine if they both lose and you include them, they played an extra game. Miami or whoever shouldn't get a BYE into the tourney. But to punish one and not the other for having to play an extra game is stupid.

this is all why when Dems get any power and don't do the same, we on the left are getting more and more pissed off AT THE DEMS!

the R's aren't playing by the same rules, stop pretending you have to!

There's a weird/unfavourable game-selection process with the networks and the B10 too.

It's something like FOX gets 1st & 3rd dibs, and then CBS/NBC alternate between 2nd & 4th game picks, and then NBC can tag a Peacock night game, and then FOX gets to claim everything else if they want it.

NBC have had a Pluto/Amazon FAST channel for years (and got enough viewership that led to them bringing back NBCSN as a cable channel), and there's never any significant cross-promotion of the B10 on any of their shows beyond a 15-second scripted ad-read.

ESPN/FOX kills it in this area.

This is up there with Vick in a dog fighting ring and Bobby Petrino on a motorcycle as one of the all-time "wtf?" sports stories ever.

Not the scale of steroids or concussions, or as evil as Sandusky or the US Gymnastics abuse scandals, but just from a singular "wait, an Olympian did *WHAT*?" lens

Starting to feel like if it's not trying to buy Jamey Chadwell out of Liberty isn't next (he already makes $7m there), the step after that is going to be extremely dumb Mike Shula levels of stepping in it.

Won a bowl game against a team that had a future potential NFL MVP qb on the roster!

He's not even a good coach! None of these shithead-types ever are. And they're all bad at being in charge or other employees, too!

Right! Another school with a relatively clean history would still be questioned hard hiring him.

But one with an unreasonably high number of "wtf?!" levels of various scandals throughout the ath dept & adjacent entities over last 2 decades is either a massively tone-deaf move, or they dont care.

I cannot imagine a more boringly-lateral move than firing Tim Beck and then hiring Neal Brown

Her dumbass shit last night about the ACC overriding the tiebreaker rules so they could put Miami in the ACC CCG was so absurdly fucking stupid

I'm a believer of you do it early so you know what you need. You dont pin all your hopes on basically only one set of circumstances playing out perfectly as things get more edgy later.
