It’s Non-Binary People’s Day, and I want to thank every reader who’s reached out to tell me how much Yael, the enby romantic lead of HOMEGROWN MAGIC, meant to them. They mean so much to me. Every author should get to write themselves in stories, as every reader deserves to see themselves in stories.
I’ve been girding my loins to take a nice Pride Stack photo of my queer graphic novels shelf, wherein I rearrange them by color against a non-chaotic backdrop. But it’s 103 on the office porch today and July is fast approaching, so you get what you get 🌈🫠

Thought I’d do a rainbow stack of the client copies I have on hand, and managed to capture this a moment before the pile collapsed. (This is a little flex, yes, but also a reminder to debut and aspiring queer authors: we’ve been here, our stories are necessary, and we’re not going anywhere ✨)

The X-Men have been my favorite heroes since I was a kid, and Kitty Pryde, my favorite X-Men. She was powerful, brave, Jewish, and had an INTERESTING friendship with her roommate, Rachel Summers. Getting to write her story—the next in the Marvel: What If… series—is a dream.
