Yes! The other main Snorri (imo) is Snorri goði Þorgrímsson, the mob boss of the Sagas of Icelanders, who knows everyone and everything, who has his hands in everything, and who is feared even by Grettir the Strong.

I guess this in itself proves my point: sagas not only have but use multiple techniques to allow access to those interior worlds, and they also use this access to particular effects (e.g. to steer audience sympathy, or to highlight moments of crisis).

Absolutely. And we *have* to rest in order to perform for those 9 months, too. It’s just too much.

Doing research is nice and all, but it complicates things. If I could only teach, supervise and examine students, do admin, and edit other peoples works, I'd be okay with the limits of my time and energy, but as soon as I try to actually do any of my own work, everything falls apart.
