I have similar feelings about The Torch Song Trilogy. So very raw and mirroring things we saw happening. It doesn't hit with newer audiences BECAUSE we moved forward from that. Mostly.
Honestly, I'm glad they don't get it, because they don't HAVE to get it. And I hope they don't have to learn.
