Yeesh. The local library literally leaves a pile of bookmarks out, many of them with useful information written across their length. There's just no excuse.

If someone folds a page in one my books, I fully intend to fold their anatomy into the same configuration.

Remember: #GenAI has thus far proven wildly unprofitable for every company pushing it. That's why companies, in turn, try to push it upon you. To their mind, your money is the only thing saving them from billions of dollars in losses.

You can't and shouldn't save them from this. Let it burn, folks.

First, turn off #AppleIntelligence at the OS level in #macOS, #iPadOS, #iOS, etc. This blocks a lot of nonsense at the source.

Second, do NOT subscribe to Creator Studio for ANYTHING. If you buy it for Final Cut, etc., #AI also goes into Pages. If you don't subscribe, it can't enable itself.

So now Apple Pages, which I use, is going to stuff this into my face every time I open a manuscript. It means I'll have to check every box and setting twice to ensure AI isn't sneak-tweaking things. And the old version of Pages is no longer supported.

Please, dear doG, may this bubble pop soon.

Thirty-year IT veteran chiming in for context: this is also because Silicon Valley is desperate to force AI/ML into our lives. GenAI is expensive to host and generates little revenue. I had to laugh when I saw an AI *hair dryer* debuted at a trade show recently.

Oh, and now Apple's doing this...

I found the card in its original envelope, sealed and unactivated. Yet someone still got the number and used it. Meanwhile, the bank's fraud team has been uninspiring at best.

Fun times.
