I had the same experience with the one at St Aldhelm's yesterday, Andy. Reminded me of a "floppy" Wood White.

I reckon so Alan, although certainly only established locally this year I'd say (I've never caught one in the garden prior to 2025).

..due to the extensive white in the crown & strong chestnut colouring in the field, which doesn't come across well in the digishots. Maybe a poorly marked 1st year male? Aside from the bunting, a female Brambling & flyover Go Plover were the only other birds of note (2/n) @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social

Hi Martin. I'm no expert, so please do double-check the guidance, but I'd imagine you'd get a full night out of an actinic, and maybe 4 or 5 hours with a lower wattage MV.
