do not push yourself and always pay attention to your body, work with it not against it

try to take it easy and i hope you find a workflow and pace that are much more sustainable for you, along with whatever pain management winds up working for you 💚 best of luck and hang in there

rather than thinking of going back to your old drawing speed or level of output, try to focus on making drawing sustainable for yourself in the long run

so this means working slowly but steadily even if it takes you much longer, or working only in short sessions

the most important thing they said to tell you was that the fact that you're experiencing this pain repeatedly means it is most likely chronic and here to stay; so as tough as it is, be prepared for the reality that there may be no making the pain go away for good, and it's about managing it well

- it is probably not just a wrist issue but arm/shoulder/neck-related so definitely pay attention to ergonomics in your work setup
- if you feel pain STOP drawing/working right away and do the stretches + use warm compress

hi sorry this took a while! here's what my friend told me:
- everything seraphina said in response to your original tweet is good, so definitely try those
- warm compresses
- in addition to stretches, strength training even with small dumbbells or something like heavy books will be good for wrists

hi!! one of my friends who also draws also developed severe wrist/arm pain in the past couple of years, so they told me the stuff that was recommended to them; i'll type it up for you when i get home later!
