A shameful step back for nature.

The UK Government has pushed the wildlife-harming Planning & Infrastructure Bill through, despite huge opposition.

Some risks were reduced, but nature remains at risk.

‼️ The Planning & Infrastructure Bill has now passed the House of Lords, with all of the provisions that mean it could be devastating for nature.

The Government isn't leading on the environment or nature, and so it's up to all of us to show local leadership.

🐑 Our sheep are doing a great job grazing the chalk grassland we have restored on the 32 acres of ex-arable land at the Dancersend Extension fields.

(They'd never tell you that themselves, they're very baa-shful!)

🦅 The sparrowhawk may be one of our smaller birds of prey, but it has a big appetite!

They can be found in all kinds of habitats and often visit gardens looking for their prey - Rachel Powell witnessed this female sparrowhawk tucking into it a woodpigeon for lunch 🍽️

Coppicing is a traditional management technique whereby vegetation is cut to ground level to encourage thick regeneration.

🍄 Wonderful waxcaps!

Often thought of as orchids of the fungi kingdom, waxcaps come in a variety of colours and are in indicator of healthy, unimproved grassland.

Warden Phil Townsend spotted this selection at Aston Clinton Ragpits near Aylesbury!
