There is a conspiracy theory that Musk bought Twitter "just to achieve his governing ambitions" - as a South Afrincan immigrant he is ineligible, so he bought a puppet President. That's why he A) overpaid for Twitter & B) doesn't care about a financial loss the platform shows.
