Ya, there are also a lot of classes that people are required to take that they just do not care about or assignments the value of is dubious or unclear. So… I get it. But you just end up hurting yourself.

This tracks with my experience teaching programming. Though it’s very easy to spot code a new student did not write (I always ask them to explain it) I am not and do not want to be a cop. Students respond much better to being shown the problems with using genai for school work than to policing.
