One year ago today I came down with Covid for the first time; about 2.5 months after a booster vac.

I developed #LongCovid. I've got double vision, dizziness all the time, & insomnia. Lately I've been unable to sleep every 2nd or 3rd night.

It doesn't show any signs of going away any time soon.

Our big family get-together will be on Sunday due to assorted family commitments, and I've had the day today to myself. I made myself a plate from some turkey I cooked/froze a month ago, canned beans, store bought cole slaw, instant mashed potatoes, jarred gravy, & home made orange sweet potatoes.

This is the large oak tree that lives across the street from me. I can see it out my front windows, and it's visible from my sunroom, where my computer is. It's probably 25 years old.

I am jealous. This tree is absolutely fabulous. It's pretty every season of the year.

My #TulipPoplar tree has FINALLY finished dropping its huge leaves. It started in mid-August.

My Ginkgo tree also finished dropping all it's leaves. It started a week ago.

Looking what I found lurking in the sky outside my front door!

I got a new fridge today. Now I'll spend the next few hours reading the manual and highlighting the important things. Pages I may need to refer to often are marked with a little tab.

Does this mean I'm OCD?

This is my grandfather, who served on the U.S.S. Enquirer during the Spanish-American War in 1898.

He passed away in 1966. He was born in the 1880's.

From my freezer -the bin for the ice maker. I noticed the ice tasted funny a few years ago and stopped using it.

This is one of the reasons a new fridge will be delivered tomorrow. That and the half roll of packing tape holding assorted parts together.

Yay! The tomato plant I planted in May has finally bloomed!

Just in time for Sunday night's low of 27° F.

Yeah, my "green thumb" isn't so green. I think I'm destined to get produce from family members, farmer's markets, or grocery stores.

Sigh.

I had to stop today to get a snapshot of these #FallColors about a block from my house.

What, are people incapable of breaking spaghetti past in half now? I mean, it doesn't take strength or intelligence to break it in half.

So why?

A photo from a Mexico trip almost 2 decades ago. I believe this isn't far from Tulum.

We FINALLY have a non-cluttered room! The pile of junk and other items, plus the two flammable cabinets and the corrosives cabinet were finally removed during fall break last week.

What a relief to be able to use our room as intended! Although we still need whiteboards put up.

I’ve been taking care of my daughter’s cats while they are on vacation and decided to get a quick snapshot of these flowers next to her garage door. Enjoy!

Of course the cutoff for the weekly drought map was 8 AM Tuesday when all the rain came right after that. My county is the third one from the left at the top of the state.

Now I have to wait until next Thursday to see a correct map.

Ok, now I’m finding #Apriltags everywhere. Not only does Walmart have them on the walls for floor cleaning equipment navigation, but now on the products?

I’m guessing the candy was on a pallet and the tag was on one box to instruct the shipping - maybe.

I found this little guy* in my dining room. scoop him up in a dust pan to relocate him to a more appropriate environment. Guess he wasn’t happy with all the rain yesterday.

Still trying to figure out how he got into the house, as he was fae away from any door.

*Or maybe gal. 🤷‍♀️🐌

Yeah, definitely a chore for the coming weeks. Lots of digging will be involved to run a drain hose to the front drainage ditch by the road. Maybe more than one. #WhenItRains

This one has me perplexed. How do they confuse a replacement blade with a 50 oz bottle of hand soap?

I can see their confusion about the soap dish, since it has the word "soap" in it, but WTF!

Well, despite taking some botany classes in college and teaching it for a year at Butler High School, I don't have a green thumb. My son gave me 2 cantaloupe seedlings. One died and the other grew to make 2 melons. Puny little melons who died an early death. Read the ALT text for more detail.
