See it time and time again with founders where they just get decision paralysis but can't let go of any the processes because they've been so blinded by the "brilliance" of their "vision". They just make every decision all at once or none at all which is the worst of both worlds imo.

You start your project with a solid vision, but you get through the hard parts of development by having killer discernment as the grind of making the work clouds the guiding star. So many of these people can't take the ego bruise of unpinning their vision to make practical, creative decisions.

I agree totally but rather than vision I think it's far more about discernment. Any "ideas guy" off the street can have vision about what would make a great wonderful game that sells loads, but it takes discernment to make the decisions on what's good and what's bullshit.

I'm not a girl who likes to get wrapped up in whatever the kids are doing in Minecraft or whatever (leave 'em alone to their fun), but I'm so so interested in the people who are playing this and why...

BUT! Some of the "impersonations" of working-class people, particularly working-class women, are coming out a little *too* clean. It's the sort of mirage that makes you realise that this sort of hazy replication can only come from watching it happen to a parent or family member.

Turning real life locations of anti-magic (the Job Centre, carparks, new build suburbs) into a playground for children exposes the chasm between middle-class anxieties about poverty and the actual life of someone relying on government assistance to stay alive.

It's hard to describe the audacity and venom of these videos whilst also admiring the people who, despite it all, unearth the warmth and grit of working-class life with likable, charming characters and dead end, yet familiar neighbourhoods.
