Went to the local bargain store and got myself tons of Valentine’s candy and some new notebooks and gel pens and some neat little furniture (like the “in-box”). Even found some Wicked themed Shower Gel, and some neat kitchen stuff (like football shaped ice cube molds, and candy thermometers).

I can honestly tell you that this storage ottoman that I bought is hilarious for coming in a box that WAS bigger than the ottoman “built”, but inside it was in a flat shipping box and was folded thinner than the palm of my hand. It’s a collapsable basket with a lid. This cannot be sturdy at all!

Since my insurance denied my CTA again (for near daily migraines and stabbing icepick headaches) because according to them, “your doctor says you may have a headache”, I will promptly be having a bit of a breakdown. However, a nice distraction came in the mail. My horror comics arrived!

Okay! Now we’re getting somewhere! I really like it now. Just need to finish the shadow the cup and muffin are casting, once that dries, and clean up the edges a little more.

I definitely feel it makes a difference! It’s the background now I have to finish, and the details. I think I’ll keep that same color from the underpainting.

Not finished yet but working on this a little bit at a time and trying to decide if I hate it or not 😂 I think the blueberry muffin actually looks pretty decent so far, and I like the concept and colors, but I’m still deciding — would highlight/shading help, or should I leave it w/ a flat style?

I love how wacky horror film sequels could get the longer it kept going (“what else could we do with Jason Vorhees?” “He goes to New York.” “Put him in Hell.” “Launch that fucker into space.”) but it’s truly admirable that it took It’s Alive only until movie 3 to throw the mutant babies on an Island

Filled this baby up with London dry gin for cocktails for New Year’s. Tonight I’ve gotta marinate water chestnuts in soy sauce for bacon-wrapped water chestnuts/rumaki, and I’ll make that + some cheesy crescent dogs again after my dr appointment tomorrow morning. 😮💨

Mulled wine on the stove, which I accidentally boiled a bit, which also stung the FUCK out of my eyes and nose when I opened the lid (oops). Cucumber sandwiches have been struck from the menu (the cucumber fully rotted even though we bought it three days ago and it was double wrapped)

I managed to salvage it, and it looks like a cute little log now!! But oh god, the cake dried out in the fridge overnight so that’s what happened. The recipe insisted that was perfectly fine but nah, it definitely did not work 😂 it tastes good though!
