from scratch from sea-floor plate subductions? if so, i think we might want to call them a form of life.

i've yet to learn all the dynamics involved. I took a detour learning some basic geology. I don't even know how minerals grow, let alone abiotic formation of complex organics!

HAHA we CAN'T yet! need more examples.

but my continent story: after taking the complexity explorer origins of life class, i asked myself: what other kinetically stable processes are there on earth besides us and i thot: do felsic continents promote their own growth more than they would grow 1/n

for sure even 150 years after Darwin we are not used to thinking of ourselves as an evolving polymorphic population that will keep changing, maybe speciate again eventually... we are NOT a fixed form. I think there is NO definition for human.

and we don't appreciate evolution requires destruction

I think since we are so bad at finding and culturing microbes unless we find their DNA, that there are possibly non DNA based life forms in obscure places on earth that we have not yet found. wld be exciting!

also i think continents are alive but i need to learn more to conclude that.

sometimes it seems like every time i turn around the evidence for life gets earlier and earlier, like it just sprouts up spontaneously on earth. or came from elsewhere, who knows...

still, what i REALLY want to know is what OTHER kinds of planets can sprout life-like processes.

SO MUCH TO LEARN

u really think our data on earth 4 billion years ago is accurate to 200million years for all this?

probly not yet.
